Complete the Training Grounds
The tutorial teaches the full hunting loop over three chapters. Finding the first carcass is only part of the training; harvesting is introduced later.
- Follow the objective uphill and use binoculars to identify the mule deer. Approach within the chapter’s 100-metre target, mark its position and take a steady shot.
- Return to the hit location and follow the blood trail. Follow the visible trail until you recover the animal; a blood trail alone does not confirm the harvest.
- In the second chapter, practise tracking with the dog. Watch its Focus bar and let it rest or recall it when Focus runs out. The dog does not select animals that satisfy your mission.
Approach quietly, use cover and keep the wind blowing from the animal toward you. Adjust zeroing to the measured distance. A tutorial distance is an objective for that lesson, not a universal distance at which wildlife cannot notice you.
Prepare for the turkey lesson
Fast travel to the cabin when instructed and open Storage. Equip the Primacy Stalker 28 Gauge shotgun in a large weapon slot and compatible Lewellings Turkey Swift ammunition. Check that the ammunition is carried and equipped; owning it in the Shop is not enough.
The lesson directs you to a feeding spot in the highlighted area. Identify a turkey, approach without alerting it and follow the objective to shoot a grounded turkey in the head from within 40 metres. These conditions belong to the training objective, not every bird hunt.
Harvest and finish
Find the downed turkey and move close enough for Harvest animal to appear. Use the displayed input to open the harvest review. Review the shot, meat loss and trophy information, then hold Sell for cash or Taxidermy to keep the trophy. Decide before selling: that animal cannot be taxidermized afterward.
Training is finished when the game announces that beginner training is completed. Your journey then continues in New Laurentia. Before every hunt, check the weapon, compatible ammunition and carried supply; after every shot, recover the animal before choosing how to use the harvest.
