Three maps, different purposes
| Map | Area | What to use it for |
|---|---|---|
| New Laurentia | 100 km² | North American species, including mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, elk and wood bison |
| Kilimaya Reserve | 100 km² | African species, including lions, hippos, Nile crocodiles and greater kudu |
| Hearth & Hunt Headquarters | 16 km² | Expandable lodge, cross-reserve trophy display and a smaller surrounding hunting area |
Headquarters is not a third reserve of the same scale as the first two. Future DLC areas are not included in this base-game count. The main menu’s Hunting Reserves entry is the place to look for reserve selection.
Read the animal layer
Hide unrelated species with the sidebar icons. Select a group and use Toggle animal spots to expand discovered need zones. Read the species, location and activity times from the zone panel.
Explore question marks to discover more spots. A blank part of your map can mean that it has not been explored, rather than that the area has no wildlife. For a recognizable starting example, look for mule deer feeding spots west of the main New Laurentia lodge around Wetiko Foothills.
Travel and personal markers
- Green tent/P camp: once unlocked, fast travel, change time and summon a vehicle.
- Station: fast travel and vehicle summoning, without time changes.
- Task highlight: use the highlighted area and on-site objective prompts for mission targets.
- Position waypoint: PC middle mouse button; edit the icon under CUSTOM MARKER or use CLEAR.
- Animal tag: use the firing input through binoculars; it follows the individual rather than staying at a place.
Use the animal-location guide for need-zone examples in both reserves. A map overview identifies regions and navigation tools; it is not a complete coordinate list for every animal.
